Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMPlan)

The Victorian Government requires every council to have a Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMPlan) to cope with emergency events. Our MEMPlan has been developed pursuant to Part 6A the Emergency Management Act 2013. This plan addresses the prevention of, response to, provision of relief services and the recovery from emergencies affecting our community.

We have consulted with Victorian State Emergency Services, Victoria Police, Fire Rescue Victoria, Country Fire Authority, Ambulance Victoria, Red Cross and the Department of Health, Department Families, Fairness and Housing and relevant key stakeholders.

Our MEMPlan contains 8 major sections:

  1. Introduction
  2. Municipal location and characteristics
  3. Municipal planning arrangements
  4. Mitigation arrangements
  5. Response
  6. Relief and recovery arrangements
  7. Roles and responsibilities
  8. Appendices
