Waste Recovery Centre

The Waste Recovery Center will be closed Christmas and New Year's Day. It will be open from 7.30-11am on 24 December and 7.30am-12pm on 26 December. The centre will otherwise operate during regular opening times.

Regular opening times

  • weekdays: 7:30am to 3.30pm
  • weekends and public holidays: 7:30am to 12pm

Please do not bring waste to the centre on bicycles, motorcycles or in removalist vans.

The centre is closed on closed Christmas Day, New Years Day, ANZAC Day and Good Friday.

Fees

Mixed loads are charged at most expensive rate. All fees include GST.

Please come to the centre in your vehicle only: no walk-ins, bicycles, motorbikes or removalist vans.

Payment is by credit cards or EFT transfer only. We do not accept cash.

E-waste (NTCRS) Currently accepting for free as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme, includes printers, parts and related computer items.
E-waste (non-NTCRS)  Charges as general waste, and includes all waste items not covered by NTCRS. 
Paper, cardboard, books Currently accepting for free. Shredded paper is accepted, and must be presented in small bags to effectively recycle. Large quantities of bound books are not accepted.
(Household quantities only, not accepted in trailers or vans. Cardboard must be flattened at arrival, and should be clean, sorted into groups and ready to go. If not, you may be asked to return when the load is sorted so delays to other customers is avoided.)

Before you arrive

Your load should be clean, sorted into groups and ready to go before you arrive to reduce wait times. If your waste is not separated, you may be asked to return at a later time when it has been.

Understand what you can drop off, what we won’t accept and the restrictions on the size of your load. 

Cardboard, e-waste and the Paintback scheme are in high demand and may exceed capacity. You may need to return at a later time.

Do not bring

We do not accept:

  • cooking oil
  • chemicals
  • solvents such as paint thinners
  • fertilisers
  • insecticides
  • gardening chemicals
  • swimming pool chemicals
  • solar panels - Batteries and inverters
  • LPG fuel tanks
  • large gas cylinders and welding tanks
  • products delivered in vacuum tanks
  • cleaning products
  • electric vehicle batteries - (EV) batteries for cars, trucks and motorcycles
  • commercial or household energy storage batteries.

Dangerous household chemicals can be disposed of through the Detox Your Home program.

Asbestos

We do not accept asbestos. To find out about its safe disposal, consult the Victoria Government Asbestos program.
