The Fire Danger Period for Banyule starts 25 November 2024. It means you cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a permit or comply with certain requirements.
You must apply for a permit if your works will be constructed during out-of-hours times.
If you will be operating over dimension vehicles during out-of-hours, then you must first apply for a memorandum of authority.
You may also require an access permit from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
Homeowners and business must be notified of what you will be doing and and what times.
You need to draft a letter with this information and distribute it in-person or by post. This lets neighbours know that you are not breaching the law.
Apply to operate out-of-hours
We will assess your application, calculate what your operation fee will be, and respond to your application in 5 working days.
The fee is paid after you submit a permit application. We will contact you directly.
If you have any questions, contact the Construction Management team on 9490 4222 or at construction.management@banyule.vic.gov.au
If a nominated person is not contactable or not on site, then a $1000 infringement may be issued to the permit holder.
