Permit for placing a shipping container
If you are planning to place a shipping container on the roadway, footpath or nature strip to unload or use as temporary storage, you will need a permit.
In your application, you must state the exact amount of days you intend to have the shipping container in place.
You are also required to let your neighbours know before the container arrives in a residential street.
Getting a permit
As part of your application you will need to:
- tell us the container size
- give a notification letter to your neighbours
- provide details of your contractor's public liability insurance
- pay the $30.00 per day fee.
We will check to ensure that the proposed location is suitable.
