U3A Banyule raises over $2150 for the Banyule Community Fund

Thank you to U3A Banyule for hosting two fantastic fundraising events in May 2024 for the Banyule Community Fund (BCF). Members of U3A contributed items for a communal afternoon tea, a function which included live music performances from Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar students and Colombian singer and guitarist, Edilson and Omaira Arenas.

Attendees were charged $25 per head with 100% of proceeds being donated to the BCF, raising a whopping total of over $1,500.

The following week, U3A Banyule hosted a craft sale, with members knitting a range of items to sell for charity. $650 of items were sold, which was all donated to the BCF.

The U3A chose to allocate their donations to food security which can be granted out to food relief organisations and food hubs in Banyule for people in need.
