James Reserve public art opportunity

Toilet block mural

We are commissioning public murals for the walls of a soon-to-be-installed public toilet and a recreational hit-up wall at James Reserve in Heidelberg. Are you interested?

Our Arts and Culture team wants to hear from artists living anywhere in Victoria who are interested in creating new, high quality public murals for these walls. Your ideas must be creative, original, exciting and appropriate for the location, park users and local community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented, professional mural artist to create an original, site-specific work.

Selection

Selection of the final artworks will take place in a 2-stage process. After this open call out, up to 3 shortlisted artists will be invited to submit a more developed proposal and will be paid a design fee. From these designs the final artworks will be chosen.

We are seeking 1 artist to undertake both the public toilet and rebound wall artworks. The walls will be completed at different times, and the artist will be required to install the artworks at separate times in 2025.
