Kickstart your career with us! Applications are now open.

In partnership with the AFL SportsReady Warumilang Program, we are proud to offer Aboriginal traineeships: roles that provide a unique opportunity for First Nations professionals to gain hands-on experience in local government.

The traineeships support career growth through real work experience, nationally recognised training and ongoing mentoring ... all in a culturally safe and inclusive environment.

Community benefits

The traineeships are designed to increase Aboriginal participation in local government, creating pathways for greater representation, stronger voices and more inclusive decision-making.

These opportunities help build a workforce that truly reflects the diversity of our community, while honouring the deep and ongoing connection of First Nations peoples to the land we work and live on. Through traineeships, we empower and grow a strong, skilled and informed First Nations community in Banyule.

  • identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • live, work, study or have a strong connection to Banyule
  • be committed to learning and personal development.
