Social enterprise

Start or grow a social enterprise. Our programs support individuals, organisations and not-for-profits to develop a social enterprise in Banyule.

A social enterprise is a business that is led by a social, cultural or environmental mission that creates benefit to the public. It earns most of its income from trade, and reinvests its profits to fulfil its economic mission.

It’s important to know that social enterprises are different to regular corporations who typically work to maximise profit to benefit shareholders and owners.
