Emerge louder poetry workshop

Logo for Voices in the Streets

Hawraa Kash leads you an intro to spoken word poetry. The workshop is aimed at those that are finding their footing or needing a little push as writers and artists. By the end, you will feel empowered and emboldened to create your own platform and find your voice in the written and spoken word.

About the instructor

Hawraa Kash is a spoken word poet, MC, mental health advocate and a human resources professional in not-for-profit and community spaces. They are originally from Gadigal Land, and now call Naarm home.

Demanding to be heard, Hawraa uses her poetry to create her own platform and provide a safe space for others. Her writing encompasses her passion for embracing vulnerabilities.

She ventures into the realms of advocacy for women of colour, mental health and the trials and intersections of diaspora and identity. Hawraa uses her poetry to create unconditional connections with strangers and engage in the power of storytelling, with a deep belief that sharing our stories will remove shame and stigma and create space for collective healing.
