Nellie Ibbott Reserve
This park is named after Nellie Grace Ibbott MBE, a Heidelberg Councillor from 1928 to 1950. She was Heidelberg's first female councillor and Mayor, and Victoria's first female Mayor.
Improving this park
We've recently installed a beautiful new lizard sculpture by local indigenous artist Phillip Howe that will be complemented by new nature play areas and plantings around the sculpture.
The upgrades will include:
- Adding a gravel surface and native grasses around the lizard sculpture
- Path improvements to formalise the “goat track” towards Maud Street and connect the playground to the main path.
- Two new sections of path to improve accessibility.
You can see the plans for the improvements(PDF, 2MB) that are scheduled to begin in early 2024.
