Getting NDIS support
If you have a disability, you might be able to get funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This funding can help you access services and support.
Whether you are applying for yourself or someone else, details on this page can help you get started.
NDIS eligibility
The NDIS provides funding to people with a permanent and significant disability.
It is for people who are younger than 65 and living in Australia.
Prepare before you apply
Applying for an NDIS package requires preparation and time. It can be overwhelming at times.
Seek out help if you need. There are many organisations that can help you.
Before applying, we recommend you:
- Discuss your disability with Brotherhood of St Laurence in Greensborough. Ask what what evidence you will need to provide.
- If you need any extra medical or other reports, book in with specialists as soon as possible - there may be a long wait to be seen.
- Make contact with an NDIS advocacy organisation if you need more support to prepare your NDIS funding application. VALiD has a long list of advocacy organisations.
- Find a system that works for you to keep all your information and documents in the same place.
How to apply
You can apply for the NDIS over the phone or by completing an access request form.

Finding non-NDIS support
