Our services

Maternal and Child Health can again offer centre-based consultations for children from birth to 3.5 years. We will continue to offer tele-health appointments if your preference is not to attend the centre, or if you or your child are unwell. We will send appointment reminders about your appointments including the time and centre to attend.

We work with families to promote health and well-being and to provide a free service for all families with children from birth to school age.

Our MCH team offer:

  • child health and development assessments
  • parenting education
  • new parents' groups
  • breastfeeding support
  • postnatal depression help and support
  • child safety information
  • enhanced MCH service.

New parents' groups

As a first-time parent you will be invited to join a new parent group. Groups discuss and share information about health, well-being, and parenting with the opportunity to connect with other local new parents. Partners are also invited to attend. New parents' group sessions are held weekly over 6 weeks for 2 hours each session.

Speak to our MCH nurses on your next visit for more information.

Enhanced maternal and child health

The enhanced MCH service is available for families that need more intensive support.

This specialised program may be offered if you are experiencing significant challenges related to parenting.
