When you submit your application to eRecruit you will receive a confirmation email.

Keeping track of your application

You can track your application in eRecruit. Login and select ‘My Application History’ and see any messages in ‘My Correspondence’.

Short-listing for interview

If you are on that short list we will contact you by phone to arrange an interview time.

Recruitment process time frame

  • interviewing and selection period: 1 to 3 weeks
  • offer of employment: 1 to 5 days
  • correspondence to unsuccessful candidates: 1 week (after interviewing and selection).

Pre-employment checks

Banyule City Council may conduct pre-employment checks including:

  • police check
  • working with children check
  • eligibility to work in Australia checks and visa verification
  • pre-employment medical
  • functional capacity assessments
  • psychometric profiling
  • credential checks
  • sighting/checking of qualifications or documentation.

Pre-employment medical

Some positions may require a medical examination to find out if you meet the physical requirements of the job (as outlined in the position description). If the job does not require a medical, you will be asked to complete a Statement of Disclosure.

Offer of employment

If you are successful, you will receive a verbal offer for the position by the relevant manager. HR will send you a Letter of Offer and a New Starter Pack with the details of the position and information to finalise your appointment.

Visa information

Banyule City Council employees must have the right to work in Australia or hold a valid visa. If you are successful, you will need to provide evidence of this status before starting.
