What we are seeking
We support the proposal by Bowls Victoria for funding for a new State Bowls Centre located at Bundoora Bowls Club.
The project would be a partnership between Bowls Victoria and the Victorian Government with a $750,000 investment for design concepts.
What it will deliver
Bowls is a major participation sport in Victoria with no home base. The previous state bowls facility in Northcote has closed.
Investing in concept designs is the first step in giving Bowls Victoria a headquarters to ensure the sustainability and growth of the sport.

Overview
Bowls Victoria supports 510 clubs, 41,980 members and 193,072 participants throughout Victoria.
More than 82% of these participants are over age 40. Bowls enables physical activity and social connection amongst older Australians.
The sport is currently lacking a centre of excellence facility that would provide a dedicated home of bowls within Victoria as well as serving as a hub for high performance, coaching, administration and sport development.
The State Bowls Centre Feasibility Study 2021 confirmed the need, scope, site and feasibility of a new State Bowls Centre in Victoria.
The facility will provide for the high bowls participation in the region and the programming needs of Bundoora Bowls Club. It will also support Bowls Victoria’s high-performance program and administration requirements.
The facility will be designed for regional tournaments, and for state representative team participants to use the facilities and programs. Public and school groups will be able to hire the facility.
