What we are seeking

We are advocating for a Victorian Government investment of $565,000 to upgrade lighting at the Ivanhoe Park Croquet Club and to improve accessibility and functionality of the heritage-listed club rooms.

What it will deliver

Upgrading the courts to the standard size and installing lighting will ensure croquet can be played at social and competitive levels. These additions are fundamental for the survival of the club if it is to keep its current members and expand its membership base (without losing players to other clubs).

What you can do

To help us deliver this priority, you can write to our Lower House Member of Parliament for this electorate or any of our Upper House Members of Parliament for their commitment to deliver funding for this project.

Overview

The club rooms have been home to local croquet for 90 years. The heritage-listed building is outdated and no longer fit or purpose, failing to comply with competition court standards or accessibility requirements.

The Ivanhoe Park Croquet Club was established in 1913. The clubhouse is located in Ivanhoe Park and is small and poorly appointed. The courts are not standard size and lack lighting.

This ask supports our Ivanhoe Sports Precinct Plan and the club’s vision of 'a vibrant club that attracts and caters for all age groups keen to play croquet at social and competitive levels year round.'

Why now?
Urgent upgrades are needed if the club is to continue attracting new members and competing against other clubs.
